The one biggest major theme of the book "lord of the flies" in my opinion is rules and orders need to be obtained in society the reason I think this is because rules and orders are used throughout the entire book the kids are always corrupt and evil without rules in the beginning they had tried to set up and organize a democratic society for themselves on the island but when some of the kids started not following the rules like when jack let the fire burn out just so he could kill a pig everything went terribly wrong rules and orders weather humans know it or not are the only thing keeping them alive it is there true way to be savage and want to disobey, steal and kill this is shown in lord of the flies because as soon as people are taken outside of punishment and consequences they quickly kill themselves and as stupid and idiotic rules may seem they are the only reason your alive.....
